Operation Desert Storm Mug

In Operation DESERT SHIELD, SEALs were deployed along the Saudi-Kuwait border to operate listening and observation posts.

As part of the build-up of coalition special forces, they provided training to Saudi and Kuwaiti naval personnel.  On water, SEALs conducted Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) operations on incoming ships, beach reconnaissance, and mine sweeping operation along the Kuwaiti shore.

In DESERT STORM, SEALs helped to secure oil platforms, operated laser-designators for precision guided bombs, performed combat search and rescue (CSAR), and engaged in deception operations to confuse the enemy prior to the beginning of the ground war.
