Rear Admiral Stephen C. Evans, USN (Retired) is a strategic and operational executive leader with a three decade career of driving transformation and innovation in a complex, highly sensitive global organization. In progressive Navy Commander and Director roles he developed and implemented new digital technologies, played a key role in creating diverse Navy innovation initiatives, and led the strategic alignment of Intel, Cyber and Information grid functions to improve integrated warfighting. Critical to his success has been his ability to leverage his core assets, including his operational effectiveness directing high ROI, large scale organizational transformations; driving a culture of safety by mitigating system and network risk, ensuring compliance of Cyber and Physical Security and leveraging Big Data and Cloud technologies; delivering dramatic results in international diplomacy and military relations enabled by his deep geo-political insights working in diplomatic missions in over 64 countries and commanding Naval forces in six operational theaters; and his focus on empowering human capital and developing a rich, diverse high performing culture.

Throughout his 34-year career in the U.S. Navy, retiring in May 2020, Stephen served in a diverse range of leadership positions across the globe, including combat roles as Ship, Task Force and Strike Group Commander, critical training/professional development positions to ensure quality Navy personnel, advisory role to the 75th Secretary of the Navy, and serving as U.S. representative in deliberations and actions of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to protect U.S. interests in Europe and around the world.

Most recently, Stephen was appointed to the NATO Military Committee as Deputy U.S. Military Representative, where he was a key player in the NATO initiative to develop next level modeling and simulation capability for wargaming. Previously, he was Commander of George H.W. Bush Carrier Strike Group with operational authority of 1 of only 10 like organizations in the Navy; Commander of the Naval Service Training Command responsible for training 98% of personnel entering the Navy; honored by being placed as Senior Military Assistant to the 75th Secretary of the Navy; and Commander of the Middle East Task Force with authority over Navy and Coast Guard ship commanders and accountability to bring together Arabian gulf nation states. In his earlier Navy career, Stephen was Deputy Commander of a Destroyer Squadron leading the U.S. Navy’s Surface Anti-Submarine exercise development program, Director of all professional development at the United States Naval Academy, Commanding Officer of a $1.75B Aegis Guided Missile Destroyer and held a series of progressive early career leadership assignments.

Following his retirement in May, Stephen founded Flag Bridge Global Solutions, LLC, where he is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of this global consultancy delivering solutions in the areas of corporate enterprise strategy, organizational structure, operational effectiveness, digital transformation and human capital/ culture development.

Stephen graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received his Master of Arts from the U.S. Naval War College. He also has attended high profile continuing education programs at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, MIT, UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government.
