World War I

Empires, independence, and nationalism; is blood really thicker than water? In this curriculum, students will learn how World War-the Great War-impacted families, empires, artists, and Americans. From an assassination to the breakdown of royal families to the United Nations, the events surrounding World War I reshaped the 20th century and beyond. Use each lesson independently or together as a unit to help your students understand why Europe devolved into war, why the United States joined European efforts, and how the Great War still impacts American race relations and culture today.
