Type 95 Shin Gunto [New Military Sword]

The Shin Guntō was an issued saber for NCOs and officers of the Japanese Army. The sword was one facet of a push to create a unified fighting force based on traditional Japanese heritage. This sword was taken from surrendering Japanese forces at Aparri, northern Luzon, by Lt. Robert Eddy.
