Talking to Locals

During the Vietnam War, United States servicemen worked with the Red Cross, vaccinated village children, and dispersed food aid. Most United States service members who fought in the Vietnam War believed they were helping to bring a better life to the people who lived there. Always alert to the possibility that the people they interacted with were aiding the National Liberation Front (Viet Cong), United States soldiers worked to provide essential life services to the Vietnamese.
