2026 Liberty Bash

On Saturday, May 30th, the 2026 Liberty Bash will be hosted at the Pritzker Military Museum & Library. The theme for this year's event is Spirit of '76 Birth of the Citizen Soldier, as we celebrate the birth of America and the 2026 Founder's Award recipients. The Founder's Award is presented by Museum & Library Founder and Chair Jennifer N. Pritzker. The award recognizes an individual or organization for an extraordinary contribution to the mission of the Pritzker Military Museum & Library and the preservation of the heritage of the Citizen Soldier.

Robert Bied is a Chicago-based executive, engineer, and civic leader whose career and public service reflect a deep commitment to innovation, stewardship, and citizenship. Over more than three decades, Bied held senior leadership roles in advanced manufacturing and product strategy, primarily with U.S. subsidiaries of German manufacturing firms, most recently serving as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Product Management at HAIMER USA. His professional work was defined by technical expertise, disciplined leadership, and strong collaboration across international markets.

Robert Curry, or Bob to those who know him well, is a Vietnam veteran, entrepreneur, and veteran advocate whose life and work reflect a deep commitment to service, recovery, and citizenship after war. Following his military service, Curry built a career in business and technology while also drawing on his own hard-earned journey home to help other veterans facing the challenges of transition, trauma, and reintegration. His work has been defined by resilience, leadership, and a belief that those who have served are often best equipped to help one another heal and move forward.
