The Vision
We are transforming our Reading Room into the Richard Passarelli Community Library. This new space will be a 30-seat research hub and broadcast center designed to bring our world-class collections out of storage and into the hands of the public. This is more than a renovation. It is a place for veterans to share stories, for students to discover the meaning of citizenship, and for researchers to access our specialized military history collection.

This vital support comes from dedicated partners celebrating his legacy as a decorated Navy veteran and visionary labor leader. Through his work with the Utility Workers Military Assistance Program, Richard spent decades ensuring transitioning service members found meaningful careers. He truly exemplified the spirit of the Citizen Soldier, and we look forward to a formal announcement later this year.
