In The Archives: Exploring the History of the Army Nurse Corps

In celebration of Women’s History Month in March, Andrea Martinez, Archivist at the Pritzker Military Museum & Library, will be exploring the vast array of collection items related to the history of the Army Nurse Corps. Highlights of this Program include, the Mabel Ljungberg Collection looking at WWI Army Nurses Corps, the Rose Teplitsky Collection showing items from WWII Army Nurse Corps and the Elizabeth Bohling Collection from the Cold War era Army Nurse Corps. Andrea Martinez is the Museum & Library’s Archivist. In this position, Andrea organizes, preserves, and maintains control over archival collections donated to the Museum & Library. She is also responsible for making these collections accessible to patrons and Museum & Library staff members for research use. Andrea holds a B.A. in History from DePaul University and is currently working towards an M.S. in Library and Information Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
