The PMML was delighted to host the AE/AOE Sailor Association for their annual military reunion. This reunion brought together almost 80 sailors and family members from across the United States. Their afternoon itinerary included exploring the museum with dedicated PMML staff and access to collections and resources not normally available to the public.
This exhibit featured art created with shards of glass that U.S. Army Episcopal Chaplain Frederick McDonald, collected from bombed churches, synagogues, and other places of significance during WWII. Remembered Light walks visitors through his memories and events of the war.
Dustin DePue, Director of Museum Collections, led guided tours throughout the evening. His insights brought the exhibit to life, as he shared personal anecdotes and behind-the-scenes stories gleaned from conversations with one of the principal stained-glass artists featured in Remembered Light. The exhibit has taken its final bow at PMML, but the impact remains for those who were able to see the exhibition during its time at PMML.
Currently on display is Crumbling Empires: The Power of Dissident Voices, a powerful collection of posters created by artists within the Soviet Union during the 1980s and early 1990s. The exhibit is a bold testament to the importance of protest and the place that art has in the resistance.
