Levine was permitted to keep as a war souvenir this German Walther 7.65 mm automatic pistol. The PMML’s possession of this weapon sparked a 2013 revision in Chicago’s gun laws, led by 14th Ward Alderman Edward M. Burke. This enabled the Museum & Library to legally place it on display.
