Army Transportation Corps Officers Insignia

The Transportation Corps is a combat service support branch of the U.S. Army established in July 1942.

It is responsible for the movement of personnel and material by truck, rail, air, and sea. During World War II, the Transportation Corps moved more than 30 million soldiers in the U.S. and seven million overseas, along with 126 million tons of cargo. The motto of the Transportation Corps is “Spearhead of Logistics.” Sollie Kaplan served in the Transportation Corps while stationed in Europe.
