On August 1, 1917, Walter R. Jager enlisted in the U.S. Army.
The journals in his collection document his life experiences between January 1917, and April 1918. Although Jager’s entries are brief and a couple days apart, they illuminate the life of soldiers in World War I (1914-1918).
