Event proceeds support the programs, exhibits, and collection of the Pritzker Military Museum & Library.

Tim O'Brien received the 2013 Pritzker Military Library Literature Award for Lifetime Achievement in Military Writing. Sponsored by the Tawani Foundation, the award recognizes a living author for a body of work that has profoundly enriched the public understanding of American military history. Tim O’Brien is a veteran of the Vietnam War and an award-winning author of military fiction, essays, and non-fiction. His books include the acclaimed The Things They Carried, Going After Cacciato, and In the Lake of the Woods. See his acceptance speech here
